Three zones, one head
The border has to stay the same width from the start of the saree to the pallu. The pallu is usually the reason the hook count goes up. A machine chosen only from the border runs out of hooks when the pallu starts.
Cards or a file
A saree that will be woven the same way for a long run can live on cards. A pallu that changes with the order belongs on the electronic head. The larger the independent figure, the more the file earns its place.

- Body, border and pallu. Mark which zones are figured.
- Yarn
- Cotton or silk.
- Head
- Mechanical for a long run. Electronic when the pallu changes.
- Loom
- Power loom or rapier. Reed width and weft colours.
- Hooks
- From the pallu when the pallu is the large figure.

It can. The three zones are planned together. If you only figure the border, the hook count drops.
The jacquard selects warp ends either way. Tell us the yarn, and whether the loom is a power loom or a rapier.
